The unhealed

When the night screams of opaque silence

And the darkness of the sky is lit with stars

You look out for yourself with those gleaming eyes

Not doing much for unhealed and unheard scars.

You read a story to the growing glaze

Assuring yourself that no one lends their ears

You hope for this night to pass

And the story told is never told with fear.

Cigarette – Addiction or Choice!

Had seen my father dragging puffs,
It felt like releasing yourself from handcuffs.

That cigarette smell was like an aroma to me,

Which I always wanted to try and feel free.

The first I smoked at seventeen,

Fully aware of the effects of nicotine.

But never knew i will be this addictive,

Well, that was me, careless and non-productive!

The sight of tobacco-caused cancer warnings were scary,

I wanted those images not to be so prominent but a bit blurry.

Thought of saying no to friends with cigarette in hand,

Sadly, couldn’t take that firm stand.

Gradually, destroying, declining I finally quit,

It’s never too late to be fit.

You have loved ones who adore you,

Much more than that cigarette could ever do.

Visit to an NGO

Do you feel that disability strikes one when they are dumb, deaf, blind or physically handicapped? Don’t you think non-physical disability also counts? Some may have a mental disability, may be depression, or some other mental challenge.

Physical disability is tangible, whereas people physically abled but mentally sick for society are intangible and more problematic.

A fews days back I met a 7 yrs old boy of class 3 in a group of poverty-striken children. He was the most active boy in the lot. He was the one to participate voluntarily every time for the sake of getting chocolates as an award. The most enthusiast of all. And he was blind. Yes, never seen the world and aims to become a driver and writing all what he knew on his Braille script board. How shocking was that! Asking him his ambition shaked me badly. How can a blind person become a driver?

Braille Script

It’s been a few days since I last met him but there has been no day when I have not recalled him. He is an inspiring figure. Many would not be happy enough to see a new volunteer at their NGO where every other day someone visits with an ambition of making a change. But he was different.

He was enjoying it and gathering what so ever he could in the span of three hours every day. How many other “normal” children did I witness with the same energy? May be none. He talked to me about his family, his aim, his interests, and not a single child there could match up to what his willingness of getting better with his skills. He showcased all what he knew being a class 3 child in his performances and his Braille script writing. But his understanding touched me the most. He wasn’t a handicapped child at all. But a special child with all his other senses funtioning too well to even match a “normal” person. His innocence and sincerity for life was something unmatchable.

I didn’t know that a mere visit to an NGO out of nowhere will leave such a touching remark on me. Amish will always be dear to me for letting me know how to live your life being a “physically blind” or a “mentally blind” person.  I didn’t know what to teach him academically at the time when he taught me how to live and love life.

What we learnt from Friendship?

I have seen their lives changing from rushing to the classes and now to offices. Together we have been through the phase of eluding ourselves from lectures and binge watching shows and hibernating like a sloth. And then there’s this day where they crawl out of their beds and swiftly show up at their respective work stations.

Friendship in college life has a lot to do with how we look up to our lives. We didn’t know what we were unconsciously learning in all of this. We leant team work while celebrating birthdays at midnight. We learnt how a little contribution by every one of us could make a difference and make someone feel so special. We have learnt supporting each other. At times, we also had to become a psychologist to reassure a broken heart. We learnt the significance of every penny that we spent, though we sucked at handling our finances. We realized letting go off somethings is the best sometimes.

We discovered our individual personalities. That stage has groomed us to what we are today. I guess, I won’t be wrong if I say we have mentally and physically evolved in these years. You had them in your thoughts while going through this piece of writing who unknowingly became an indispensable item in moulding our lives.

Long live our friendships!

Long live us!

Love. Life. Laugh.

Ever had a craving for going back to sleep the minute you wake up? Actually no, not because you are sleep deprived or tired or a procrastinator. But since you would prefer not to live one more day flashing a smile on your face just for the sake of smiling. You look for a reason to be happy, yet you get none.

And, you know what’s more challenging than getting up in the morning? It’s getting a peaceful sleep at night. Again, no, not because you are busy socializing with friends or finishing a pending task or watching a show. But since your brain is basically not prepared to quit thinking about almost everything. You change your side from left to right and right to left, yet no indication of sleep. You command your brain to stop it since you suffer less when asleep. You must have had some sleepless nights too. What were you thinking then? Disillusionment or regrets or lost opportunities?

Is it accurate to say that you were self-destructive at some point?

You can get away from those troublesome contemplations. Certainly, no, not by indulging yourself into alcohol, drugs or smoking. But, by taking the leverage of this pain and converting it into the fire to achieve what you truly deserve. The agony that you are experiencing is nothing against numerous others out there in the world. Push yourself towards whatever makes you cheerful. You know yourself the best. You are brave. You will do wonders. Wake up with an idea of winning the day.

Experience the every moment you live.

Who are we? Millennials.

“Millennials”, naam toh suna hoga?

We’re really a pretty okay generation frankly. We are cool headed, easy to converse with, and quite open minded. Yes, we have our flaws as well.
No, millennials are not perfect. Be that as it may, we positively don’t merit the ten sorts of shit that the past era loves to discuss us.
They whine that we’re not even as politically drawn in as we ought to be, unless, obviously, we unquestioningly agree with all their politics. But then we get crap for that too. Too liberal, yet not sufficiently political? Dafuq lol?

At work, millennials trust themselves to be overachievers who simply aren’t understood by their bosses. They are the main era in the universe to comprehend the idea of work life balance and to really need to discover a satisfying profession.

Did you know that we are the most tech savvy generation, like ever ?

Trends include: Internet chat, Reality TV, school brutality, multiculturalism. Through test scores and overviews millennials are demonstrating more potential mentally than their ancestors.

Millennials are generally considered to be self-absorbed and spoiled, regardless of the possibility that the spoiling is not their blame, despite everything they get reprimanded for being shallow. They have a tendency to be more certain, confident and optimistic (at times unreasonably so) than past eras.

Mantra of the Millennials: “Follow Your Heart.”

Flicks of college life

Is college more about  being an “adult” than picking up information ?

Days beginning with alarm bells and for many with a joint and a cigarette. Figuring out the lectures of the day, chances of proxy and the number of classes already missed. All rushing to classes for attendance. A few young ladies giving a dash to their appearances and the rest not caring the slightest bit to such contemplations. Boys repeating their t-shirts and running with a notebook for every subject. Group activities stating forming a group of friends with a geek who has the sole obligation of finishing the errand. The breaks meant for gossips, crushes, smokes and munchies. Those privileged with mess food have now an in-built energy reserve mode.

The end of classes for the day calls for hopping on to favourite food joints. The joy there, is no less than any festival as the humongous victimization by the professors ends. Roaming around and wasting all the time with friends without doing anything and everything. And calling it a hangout. Facebook check-in, Snapchat stories, Instagram pictures and perfect hashtags.

Social life isn’t social anymore if it’s not there on your social media.

Returning back to hostels and homes within the time limit, or driving around with friends and beer or stacking the bag packs with daru and maal in light of the fact that the day hasn’t finished yet.

Getting into a college is more like buying a holiday package where you make the most of your existence with companions and everyday is a party. You almost do the same stuff what you did prior to attending college but now you are an “adult”. And therefore, you do it claiming yourself to be a pro at it now.

Well, these will soon become memories so just seize the day there!
